I had a half bath that I wanted to add a shower to in my house. While looking for contractors to do the work, I happened to come across Tara Construction, and I'm certainly glad I did. Ian did fantastic work and was always very communicative and dependable. I would highly recommend his work for any job you are looking for to get top quality service.

I've had Ian help me with various issues and upgrades around the house over the last year, and I look forward to continue working with him. Most recently, he helped with reframing and insulating two of the basement rooms, including re-paning a window, coring for a proper laundry vent, and helping with customizing a fan and under-stairs storage for the furnace room. And was incredibly helpful with the odds and ends around prepping and finishing work done for an electrical upgrade as well as sump installation. Ian is really helpful in discussing options, works incredibly hard, and is great at keeping me up-to-date about what's taken place during the day, and what the future plans are. I even had compliments from 3rd party workers about the quality of the internal framing that was done. His attention to detail is excellent, and often I discover he's handled things that I wouldn't have even thought of, like missing trim, or sealing window panes. I look forward to continuing to work with Ian while the house is (slowly) improved and upgraded. Thank you Ian!!!

We reached out to Ian for a minor shower step/baseboard job and he fixed up our issues in a timely manner and was extremely accommodating of our busy schedule. Ian was prompt, professional and took great care to explain each step of the way to us and we would not hesitate to use him again for future work!

We were extremely pleased with our recent renovation-complete bathroom and guest bedroom with walk-in closet in the basement. Ian was always on time and kept us informed of each step. He accommodated all of our needs and was very trustworthy. The project was finished on time, reasonable priced and the end product was great. We would definitely use Ian and his crew for any future work.

Ian did a great job with our basement reno. We went out to three contractors for quotes and he came in at the lowest so we went with him. Ian was planning to get our project started in about 3 weeks time, but some plans changed and he was able to get started about 1.5 weeks after we signed the contract. Ian was always up front about the costs of some extras we wanted, and even made recommendations for lower cost options to make sure we were happy with the end product and cost. He was very responsive to my texts and we always felt like we were a priority. He works very hard and demands the same of his subcontractors. In the end we are very happy with the end product and would recommend Ian and Tara Construction.

Ian and his crew made wonderful replacements to our floor and doors, as well as wall patch jobs! He was also more than willing to lend us advice on where to go for some of the supplies and how we could stay within our budget. Upon completion, the project looks better than ever, and I would gladly recommend him and his service to anyone who asked!

We have a small condo in Marda Loop and occasionally we have some small jobs that we can't do ourselves. I contacted Ian for a quote to replace three vent covers and he made time to visit the site and provide a quote within a day. He listened to what we needed done and asked clarifying questions to indicate that he understood the scope of the job. Once the quote was received and accepted Ian was flexible in scheduling and quick to come by and complete the job.

Ian went out of his way to fix our issues and he did so with a smile and great attention to detail. He was also attentive to our needs and did everything to save us money. I couldn't be happier with his work and we will definitely hire him again for our future projects! Merci Ian!

About 5 months ago, i bought a house as my family started to grow. On budget, It needed quite a bit of renovation: The kitchen, the main bathroom and the basement bathroom. I was searching for a contractor to save the day. Ian took the responsibility for me to complete the full kitchen renovation so that me and my wife have a smooth transition from our apartment to my very first home. He is honest and on time. I have been asking for his help ever since. Ian did the full kitchen renovation then the basement washroom renovation for me. I am planning to renovate the master bathroom with him as well. Honestly, i have not went out to get another quote since him. His work ethics and workmanship is second to none. When my friends hear my experience with Ian, they get surprised because none of them had good experience in the past. They never worked with the same contractor twice. I guess, this sums up the review: Ian is someone you keep relationship for a very long time because there are very few out there like him.

Ian at Tara Construction was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was timely, responsive, flexible and paid great attention to detail. Ian puts his clients first, he wisely pointed out something that wasn't in my best interest, even though it would have mean more work/money for him. We couldn’t be happier with our project, and we will be calling Ian with all our home projects going forward.

Ian did an awesome job installaling a bathroom vent, and fixing an attic vent! He was friendly and very efficient. Definitely would hire him for any home renos or fixes

Ian removed an undermount wood beam and replaced it with a lamainated flush steel beam in my basement, March, 2017. My structural engineer inspected his work mid-way and commented that he was very skilled. He is meticulous with details and worked long hours to complete in about 2 1/2 days. Great job and I'd hire him again.

Ian is an great carpenter. I love the spice rack he designed and built for me. His background experience has expanded his knowledge base and expertise. Masonry, painting, cement wall repair, roofing, are all jobs he has successfully completed for me. I would recommend this honest, hard working, and skilled 'jack of many trades' without hesitation.
